Is the Central United States proof that Conservative politics works better than Liberal ones?

North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas. All of them have unemployment lower than the national average, while liberal states like California have higher unemployment than the national average. And all of the states i have listed (Besides California) have economies still booming, such as Texas never had a housing bubble.

Would you say that corporate law is a recession-proof job?

I am a freshman in college right now, but not happy about the state of the economy.
I know the nursing and education are recession-proof jobs, but my strengths lie in economics and english and more analytical fields; I don’t like children.
